Letter From The Head About Coronavirus School Closure

In view of the present COVID-19 situation, and per government decision, school premise is closed until further notice. This includes all lettings. School is open for key workers and vulnerable children only. Please see the following letter from our headmaster, Ian Fenn.

Dear Parent/Carer,

We have been instructed to close the school for most children from 2.30 pm Friday 20th March 2020 until further notice.

Your son must now start studying independently at home with the support of learning materials via the school’s website and work packs received in school. On our website, please go to the Home Learning tab and select the work for your son’s year group (Y11 and Y10) and Key Stage (KS3 – Y7, Y8 and Y9).

All staff email addresses are available on the school website and your son should email work to his teacher in order to receive guidance and feedback. Teachers will be available at least once per day via email.

Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error and was unable to complete your request. Either the server is overloaded or there is an error in the application.

We will remain open to look after the children of key workers and vulnerable children.
Examples of key workers include NHS staff, police and supermarket delivery drivers who need to be able to go to work to support the country’s fight to tackle coronavirus.

Please follow this link to see if you are a key worker:

Vulnerable children include those who have a social worker and those with Education, Health and Care Plans – a legal document that describes a child’s special educational needs and the support they require.

We also will find ways of ensuring that those on Free School Meals do not miss out. This may be in the form of a voucher or some scheme, yet to be announced by the Government. In the meantime, if your son wants a free school meal, you should contact the school so we can make the necessary interim arrangements.

If you have a question, please contact the school by emailing your questions to office@burnage.manchester.sch.uk or phoning 0161 432 1527 and leaving a message.

I thank you in anticipation for your continued support.

Yours sincerely,

I D Fenn
